We're glad you're here to learn more about our programs. Never before has the engineering industry played such a vital role on a worldwide stage. Our students are exposed to people and cultures both in the U.S. and abroad and see firsthand how their experiences and knowledge can and will play a role in the future of society.
You might have questions about laptop recommendations, scholarship application, or what a typical high school background looks like; you can find information on that and more on our prospective students page.
At Lipscomb, we have three ABET accredited degree paths for you to choose from—
Civil engineering is all about building, shaping and improving infrastructure to enable, sustain, and enhance societal living conditions. Engineers in this field design buildings and skyscrapers, transportation systems, dams, bridges, fresh water systems, energy supplies, drainage systems and more. Civil engineers also help design and construct projects that play an important role in the advancement of developing nations.
Electrical and Computer Engineering
Here, you can choose one of two tracks or concentrations—computer or electrical. Computer engineers create next-generation computer systems by developing new computer architectures, high-speed processor chips and memory systems, digital displays, embedded device development for mobile and wirelessly connected Internet of Things (IoT) applications, and more. Electrical engineers design and build a wide range of electrical and electronic systems including hybrid automobile motors and batteries, low power wireless communication systems for sensors, solid-state power electronics for smart-grid and distributed energy storage, biomedical instrumentation, nano-scale energy harvesting, and much more
Mechanical engineers design products and processes in all areas of the consumer arena. From prosthetic limbs and medical implants, to airplanes and automobiles, to industrial robots and drones, to wind turbines and electric cars. Mechanical engineers also develop and oversee the production processes involved in the manufacture of all consumer products. In addition, mechanical engineers are an integral part of the research and development of new technologies that will change the world in your lifetime.
