Raymond B. Jones College of Engineering

Building a sophisticated, functioning system or structure in an ever-changing world requires a remarkable mix of imagination, innovation, and technical savvy. That’s what Lipscomb engineering students develop: the confidence and the competence to (literally) change the world.

Your engineering success starts here.

The world of engineering is not what it used to be. Today our undergraduate students are designing and installing bridges in underdeveloped countries, building cars, finding and embedding hidden data in images, developing renewable energy systems and even designing and building autonomous robotic systems. Even better, they're being hired by some of the top engineering firms in the country, such as SpaceX, Boeing, Intel, Barge Waggoner Sumner & Cannon, Nissan and Bridgestone, as well as being accepted at some of the best graduate schools, from Johns Hopkins and UCLA to Harvard and Vanderbilt. Have an interest in giving back and learning about other cultures? Perfect. Many of our students travel each year to places like Guatemala and Haiti to help villages in a variety of engineering-related ways while working toward their degree. Even industry professionals seeking advanced skills discover just what they need with our graduate programs.

Fields Engineering Center

Construction is well underway on a new 26,800-square-foot engineering facility on the northwest part of campus. The new center will house the entire College of Engineering and provide collaborative learning spaces, flexible teaching areas, several labs, and an innovation center including student access to 3-D printers, circuit board mill, laser cutter, ham radio station, robotics equipment and more. The building will also be used as a learning tool with exposed and color coded MPE ducting, piping and conduit in lab and learning spaces; central monitoring of mechanical systems and rooftop access for solar experimentation.

Undergraduate Programs

With employment rates near 100% for our graduates with companies like SpaceX, Boeing, Rolls-Royce, Barge Waggoner Sumner & Cannon, TTL, Torch Technologies, Bonitron, TTL, Nissan, and more, we have a proven record. Offering degrees in civil and environmental, electrical and computer, and mechanical engineering, we provide students with a solid theoretical base coupled with real world application. It's just one reason our students graduate ready to hit the ground running at some of the top companies in the engineering industry.

Engineering Missions

The Peugeot Center was created to carry on the work started in the College of Engineering in 2004 to offer students unique mission trips based on engineering needs. The center offers students the chance to experience a world different from their own and learn what it takes to be an engineer outside the classroom. Students lead the projects, work on design and testing of projects, and in most cases, travel to the country to construct or install the finished product themselves. Projects will come and go, but in the end, each one changes lives—both the lives of those for whom they are designed and the lives of those who design them.
